~ About ~

Celeste Spiderwrulf & Ken Cloudwalker

I was a Firefighter in New Jersey for 7 years, I brought Ken into the Fire Company and we were married at the Firehouse.   We have been living in Florida since 1998, where incidentally they would not let us be Firefighters.  I have been in retail for over 20 years, and due to several foot surgeries I have had to leave the Corporate world. During the two years of surgeries and recovery I worked hard on developing my crafts.  My father was a jeweler and I share some of his compassion and artistic blood.  I started by selling collectibles and toys from my collection, turning the money around for components to use in my arts and crafts.  I have been walking the Red Road since my awakening in the year 2000, and I continue learning and growing.

In 2001 my husband and I were part of an organization that put on a pow wow.  If you do not know what a pow wow is; It is a gathering of Native American culture, dance, songs, stories, drumming, and so much more.  You really have to experience one to take it all in.  Well the pow wow starts off with the Grand Entry, in which we honor All military Veterans of wars.  Well, we all know how the year 2001 went here in the United States of Native America; And that year at the pow wow, the Firefighters, Police and Emergency personnel were asked to come into the circle Behind the Veterans.  Because, I guess people finally realized that we were also Warriors, at home.  It was very emotional for me, and I dedicate many of my products and beadwork to Veterans.  In 2005 my little brother went off to Iraq, another combat medal pattern to learn.  Please see my compilation video, of the sandbox stories he sent home here.

The "Shop" began in 2001 as a Service for the People.  I would purchase things like bone hairpipe beads, sage, feathers, furs and such, then bring it to the monthly meetings to re-sell (at no profit to myself) the items that were normally requested at the prior meetings.  My reply to the question, "Why is this price for pipestone so low?"  ...I only cover the cost of shipping and Provide it as a service for the people.  Same for items such as sage, sweetgrass, and herbs.

In 2002 I opened a "Shop" on eBay, I also set up at Craft Shows, Pow Wows, and Flea Markets.  In 2008 I shut down the eBay shop due to the increasing Fees and started this Website, for the Main purpose of posting a good Pow Wow calendar list for Florida as... you guessed it...  as a service for the people.

In 2005  we set up at our first Thundering Spirit Family pow wow on the invitation of our good brother Tony.  Narry a year later I took over website design and upkeep for the Thundering Spirit Family, and we have been a part of one of the Best pow wow's in Florida (in my opinion) ever since.

13 April 2007 ~ A Friday the 13th to be specific...  I quit smoking cigarettes with the help of Chantix

We have travelled from Florida to Virginia and all points in between setting up at powwows, taking pictures, posting videos, listing and promoting powwows and just sharing what we do with the people.  My husband has been a participant as Keeper of the Circle (or Arena Director) at many.  In our travels, I purchase or trade for Unique Handcrafted items, so you never know what you are going to find in the shop.

In 2009 I opened a  shop on Artfire and I am very happy with this venue.  If you visit the "Shop" on Artfire, please be sure to check out the Blog page there, to see what is New and Updates..

"Being Indian is mainly in your heart. It's a way of walking with the earth instead of upon it. A lot of the history books talk about Indians in the past tense, but we don't plan on going anywhere... We have lost so much, but the thing that holds us together is that we all belong to, and are protectors of the earth; that's the reason for being here. Mother Earth is not a resource, she is an heirloom."

~ David Ipinia, Lakota Indian Artist
